Abstract:
In the classical theories, as well as in the Born approximation, it is assumed that an atomic reaction initiated by an electron proceeds by way of a single collision with one of the target electrons. This is named the Direct Interaction Model DIM, adopting the terminology from nuclear physics. The purpose of the paper is to propose an experimental test of this model for atomic reactions.
