Abstract:

Bursoline in quantities of up to 20 tablets per working day was consumed by the subjects without complaint as to taste or appearance of the treated water. There was no evidence of any ill effect produced by drinking Bursoline treated water upon the subjects working in a hot humid environment under the circumstances of this test. The iodine ingested with the treated water was rapidly eliminated by the subjects. Three to five days after stopping Bursoline, plasma and urine iodine had fallen to very low levels.
