Abstract:

A series of cross-country traverses were taken in Michigan and southeastern Ohio to determine the feasibility of conducting cross-country surveys to collect data on the frequency of various type streams. The technique of making a cross-country survey to collect environmental data has been demonstrated. The survey showed that deep water was rarely encountered and that bank negotiation may be the main obstacle to vehicle mobility in the stream environment.
