INFORMATION DYNAMICS CORP READING MA
Pagination or Media Count:
The report presents the results of a nine-month test of a prototype SDI system developed for Army Technical Libraries. During the pilot test, one thousand documents were cataloged and indexed and disseminated to twenty-five scientific and technical personnel at U.S. Army Natick Laboratories. During the course of the pilot test, statistics were accumulated on operating costs and various parameters affecting the relevancy of disseminated information. The prototype SDI system utilizes graphic techniques for producing multiple copies of each document abstract. The output of the computerized matching function is a set of EAM cards which are subsequently used to collate reproduced abstracts for dissemination. Collation is accomplished by interspersed gangpunching, merging, and sorting techniques.
