A progress report of the research investigations being carried out on the problem of stress-corrosion cracking of high strength materials is presented. Work concerning physical metallurgy, surface chemistry, fracture mechanics, and characterization tests and translation related to stress- corrosion cracking is described. The materials being studied include high strength steels, titanium alloys, and aluminum alloys. Abstracts of recently published reports are included.
