Generalized solutions with weak or strong discontinuities that is, discontinuities in the derivatives or the variables themselves, respectively are considered for nonequilibrium supersonic flows. The curves with weak discontinuities are shown to be the characteristics of the system of equations. The interdependence of the discontinuities for several variables are discussed. Author
