Abstract:
A high-frequency transmitting antenna was developed for shore-station use. The antenna allows a 40-kW PEP transmitter to operate anywhere within the 4-8 Mcs frequency range. The low VSWR less than 1.51 allows use of 1-58-inch, 50-ohm, semiflexible, air-dielectric coaxial line. The design permits improved space utilization at shore stations. An engineering prototype has been installed at the Naval Radio Station T, Mare Island, Vallejo, California, for operational evaluation. Author
