Abstract:
The document contains the theoretical development and a demonstration of a damaged protection factor multiplier. A multiplier of the form e raised to the power Beta sub 0 Betasub 1Xsub 1 ... Betasub nXsub n is prepared for multiplying the undamaged protection factor to obtain an estimate of the protection factor after structural damage. The X sub i represent such factors as loss of exterior wall mass, ingress of fallout, loss of interior partitions, etc. The variables selected offer promise of explaining a large fraction of the change in protection factor caused by damage to a structure. Methods of testing the model are presented. Author
