Abstract:
Use of 120F dry bulb for the MUST system will result in more economical and practical hardware without sacrifice of probable effectiveness. Use of the above recommended curve will result in design and development of equipment which will be tailored to more readily meet demands imposed as a result of operation under actual environmental temperature extremes. Conduct of test will be simplified yet more realistic using the recommended criteria. Applied environmental control units air conditioners and dehumidifiers will be smaller yet adequate, thus resulting in more space and weight for payload. Power consumption will also be reduced. Cost savings will result from the overall trim-down of hardware and its power consumption.
