Abstract:
A physical fitness test battery consisting of a shuttle run, knee push-up, bent knee sit-up, jump and reach, and 600-yard run-walk was administered to a class of WM recruits. Their scores appeared typical of American high school girls. After six weeks of training the test battery was again administered to the subjects. Significant improvement was shown in all events except the shuttle run. When the recruit post-training scores were compared with those of a random selection of WMs from Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point, the recruits were found to be significantly better in all items. Author
