Abstract:
Within the scope of a general statistical evaluation of test data available from investigations into the dynamic behaviour of several machine tools, seventeen case reports concerning the knee type milling machines have been studied with a view to ascertain the feasibility of specifying some characteristic quantities as critical to machine performance. The experience gained with these machines showed the necessity of a well differentiated specification for the machine behaviour, as is assured with the Multiplex method. Some salient aspects with respect to the functional details of some parts of the electronic equipment developed to measure the cutting stiffness are presented. The individual units of this instrumentation are designed in such a way that a variety of measuring and computing tasks can be fulfilled. The problems arising in the layout of an amplitude controlled RC-Generator using a pulse duration modulator, novel continuously tunable RC-networks synchronously driven through diode switches and other elements are discussed.
