Abstract:

In the practice of both Soviet and other foreign geophysicists, two types of normal geomagnetic fields are necessary for the separation of one or another class of anomaly. These two types are the field of the uniformly magnetized sphere TO, and the field representing the sum of the fields of uniform magnetization and of the world anomalies, TN TO TW. By these means the local and regional anomalies are distinguished. The translation shows charts and graphs used to set forth normal geomagnetic fields within the USSR, and the conclusions reached regarding major regional magnetic anomalies. Author
