Abstract:
The effect of monomethylhydrazine MMH on the in vitro frog cornea was studied. Parameters examined were corneal transparency, membrane potential difference P.D., and chloride transport as evidenced by the short-circuit current. MMH caused a diminution in the transparency, a decrease in the short-circuit current, and a fall in the tissue P.D. These effects were slightly ameliorated by subsequent treatment of the tissue with arginine. Author
