Abstract:
The five aircraft tested represent a wide variety of VSTOL concepts. Correlation between the wind-tunnel and flight-test aerodynamic results is generally good when wind-tunnel wall corrections are omitted in some cases wall corrections are shown to degrade the correlation. The aircraft and wind-tunnel geometry are related to model-tunnel sizing parameters and a VTOL lift parameter, in order to establish tentative sizing criteria for VSTOL wind- tunnel testing with small wall effects. The report is one of the series 515-522 of papers presented at the 27th meeting of the AGARD Flight Mechanics Panel, held 11-12 October 1965 in Rome, Italy.
