This work presents in chart form monthly average statistics of surface and upper air ambient temperatures and dewpoint temperatures. These statistics are the monthly average of the monthly averages the means and the standard deviation of the monthly averages. For the ambient or dry-bulb temperatures, these are presented for the surface, 850-, 700-, 500-, 300-, 200-, and 100-mb surfaces over the Northern Hemisphere. For the dewpoint temperatures the statistics are presented only for the surface, 850-, 700-, and 500-mb pressure surfaces. These data used are those contained in Monthly Climatic Data of the World transmitted to the National Weather Records Center in Asheville, N. C. 16 therefore, full acknowledgement is made to all countries who participate in the monthly climatic data program of the World Meteorological Organization W.M.O.. The period of surface data is 1931 through 1960. The period of upper air data covers the years of 1950 through 1964. This is a maximum period of 15 years.
