Abstract:

Flutter simulation is a closed loop ground vibration to find flutter speeds on actual missile wings. The elements in a closed loop convert the wing linear and angular motions into electro-mechanical forces which simulate the aerodynamic forces generated by the motions in supersonic flight at some chosen Mach number and altitude. If the closed loop becomes unstable, it is inferred that the missile surface would become unstable in flight.
