Abstract:

A method is developed for approximately predicting the mean and standard deviation of the output of a detection system consisting of a band-pass limiter followed by an envelope detector. The input to the system consists of a sinusoidal signal plus Gaussian noise plus sinusoidal interference. These results are used to predict detection and false alarm probabilities.
