Abstract:

The report describes the results of an experimental program to establish the accuracy of pressure measurement in the 0.0001 to 0.0000001 torr range using a calibrated conductance-type pressure measurement system. The data collected during the study is discussed and tabulated. Results of the study indicate that the calibrated conductance-type measurement system investigated can be considered as a standard-type calibration device for the pressure range of 0.0001 to 0.0000001 torr with a maximum uncertainty of 10.3 percent. The difference between the system pressure calculated from measured conditions and a calibrated McLeod ion gauge was found to be 3.7 percent maximum in the range 0.00001 to 0.0000001 torr. Author
