The report presents the results of a one-year program to develop a Multi-color Laser Display. The purpose of the development was to demonstrate the feasibility of using lasers to produce the primary spectral lines that, when scanned into the standard 525-line television raster, would produce a color presentation compatible with the NTSC encoded video signals. The basic features of the approach used to accomplish the display is presented along with various parameters of the components such as electro-optic light modulator, acoustic scanner, noding mirror scanner, and gas lasers. The results of the evaluation of the display are also presented and analyzed, showing the success of the program. Areas for continued work that would improve performance are also discussed. Author
