Abstract:
An investigation was made to develop methods for calculating the effect on statistical measures of the ocean surface gravity wave pattern which is caused by the presence of a submerged body. To this end, an approximate scattering function is obtained, and the analytical determination of the effect on statistical measures is carried out in a certain degree of generality. As a specific case, a type of statistical measure is found for which explicit formulas giving the effect due to the submerged body is derived. Author
