High-Yield is the Navys term for space-saving foods. They are fruits and vegetables with the moisture removed by improved processes natural fruit juices and milk in powder form beef that has been prefabricated and trimmed with the bones and wastes removed by the packer turkey roll, veal cutlets, and liver with no waste, all ready-to-cook. Many of them, with the moisture removed, have a vastly longer storage life compared to the fresh foods--and they save time and labor in preparation.
