Abstract:

Different parameters as drift velocity in a D.C. electric field, or ratio of odd harmonics in an A.C. electric field of a weakly ionized gas argon are computed in two cases using respectively the Maxwell function and the Margenau function as the electric energy distribution function. A discussion is given about the conditions of validity of such computations and the relative importance of the different collision processes especially between e-e collisions, and elastic e-atom collisions effects of H2-impurities are taken into account.
