Abstract:

Serum protein fractions were determined on blood samples obtained from the tails of rats at various body temperatures. At high body temperature a large number of samples were lost because of hemolysis. This observation has been reported in patients with burns Acta Medica. hung. 21121, 1965. It was also observed that the incidence of hemolysis seemed to increase with repeated blood sampling. Electrophoratic separation was accomplished on cellulose acetate membranes at pH 8.2 barbital buffer using a microzone electrophoretic apparatus. Fractional distribution did not change significantly in rat serum with body temperatures increased up to 42.5C. Author
