Abstract:
The report contains summaries of the work performed on the II-VI compounds and the attempts to prepare luminescent thin films of AlP on tungsten substrates. The work on the II-VIs has been dropped completely and the thin film work postponed until more data is available on the properties of bulk AlP. The effort to obtain thick layers of AlP on silicon substrates has been continued only thin films have been prepared thus far. The major part of the effort will now be directed toward the determination of the solubility of AlP in a number of solvents so as to permit the solution growth of large crystals. Author
