Abstract:
Liquefaction of hydrogen and helium, and the usage and production of very low temperatures have been investigated. The authors investigated cascade methods of producing low temperatures and described certain cryogenic gases and liquids. Orthopara-transformation of hydrogen was considered in detail, and methods of obtaining this were investigated. Hydrogen and helium liquefiers were described and their usage was discussed. New low temperature cycles were discussed. Magnetic cooling, thermodynamics of demagnetization, and cryostats and magnets were investigated. Author
