A roller calibration system with settling of the wavy billet was developed, which assures a considerable reduction in the thinning value of the metal in bending places, because at the formation of a wavy billet, the metal is bent by a greater radius which reduces the thickness of the elongated zone, and consequently also the thinning value. Settlement takes place because of compression of wave tops and deformation of elongation in bending points, which takes place during the stretching of the billet around the rollers. It is changed by deformation compression, which also promotes a reduction in the thinning of the metal. Obtainment of an accurate rib form of the plate and the fulfillment of arcs in rounding off places can be assured because of the settlement of the wavy billet, not in one, but in two stands to facilitate deformation of the metal during the settling. Wave formation on the edges of the band are eliminated by setting up a second settling stand to facilitate the formation condition during the settling of a wavy billet. The longitudinal narrowing of the plate should be formed in two-three last pairs of machine rollers, because with an increase in the number of stands to mold this narrowing in bending places, a reforming of the metal is obtained.
