Abstract:
Color has been used as a variable in learning experiments e.g., Weiss and Margolius, 1954, and Hill and Wickens, 1962 however, a direct calibration of the association value of colors has not been made. In an effort to supply this information, this paper reports the rated association values of 251 centroid colors. The study indicates that colors do differ in association value therefore, it is suggested that the association value of colors should be considered when color is a variable in learning experiments.
