Abstract:
Water repellent and trasparent antistatic coatings of chromium phosphinates as tricaesyl phosphates TCP plasticized compositions were evaluated. They dissipated a positive charge of 5000 volts to zero in 7.5 and 45.0 seconds. Volume resistivity measurements of CHC13 stock solutions of these materials showed they are the most conductive of the phosphinates tested. Rigidity and tensile strength of one zinc phosphinate coating were barely improved by the use of benzoyl peroxide or by the peroxide with a chromium phosphinate. Through cross-linking of chromium phosphinate polymers by phosphinic acids, tensile strengths or in some cases, elongation were increased considerably. Author, modified-PL.
