The equations of motion for a flat plate boundary layer flow of an incompressible, electrically conducting fluid in the presence of a transverse magnetic field moving with the main stream velocity were solved numerically for the case of negligible induced magnetic field. The equations of motion were transformed into a universal form with no characteristic parameters present. The velocity profiles were calculated as they range from the Blasius profile to the asymptotic exponential profile. The error due to the finite-difference solution was also calculated. Author
