Abstract:

The accomplishments of the first years work of the three year program, Computerized Mapping of Disease MOD, are summarized as follows 1 The broad outlines of the MOD computerized system were clearly defined, along with requirements of equipment, programs, and personnel. 2 A general data- analyses vocabulary, a detailed factor catalog, and a preliminary data- extractioncollection form were developed. 3 A large file of disease leptospirosis and hemorrhagic fevers and related environmental data was collected for use in the data-extractionprocessing efforts. 4 Prototype disease-distribution maps were produced, both manually and by a computerplotter system.
