Abstract:
There have been quite a few investigations on the theory of chart making by the transformation of light beams with the use of present day universal instruments. Basically, they may be summarized into two methods, namely the so-called two-fold decentration scheme and Zhukovs theory. This paper proceeds with a theoretical analysis of these two methods using the deformation correction principle followed by a study of the nature of the structural models of the two plans, their deformations and also the inherent relationships between the two.
