Abstract:
The book acquaints the reader with the basic principles of space vehicle control. It contains three sections which consider the basic properties of space vehicles as objects of control, describe the elements of control systems, and expound the principles of construction and investigation of such systems. Special attention is allotted to the theory of measurement of parameters of motion and control of the angular motions of space vehicles. In particular, questions of the application of gyroscopic devices and an infrared vertical for the construction of a base reference system on board a space vehicle are considered, and an investigation of spatial orientation of a vehicle with the help of flywheel engines is conducted. There appears the possibility of using the gravitational and magnetic fields of the Earth for purposes of control. Basic fundamental questions of controlling a space vehicles re-entry are briefly considered. Author
