Abstract:
The organizational and operational concepts of radiological survey in Army divisions are reviewed in order to determine what changes are necessary in the 1965-1970 time frame in light of ROAD-65. The relative merits of aerial and ground radiological survey methods are investigated from standpoints of accuracy, responsiveness, and equipment. The impact of developmental radiac equipment on organizational and operational concepts for survey is analyzed. The manning level of the division CBRE and communications required to support radiological survey are investigated. Distribution of radiac survey instruments in DA-approved ROAD TOEs is reviewed for adequacy and changes are suggested as appropriate.
