The mass polarization or specific isotope shift of the 1s doublet-2s doublet-S and 1s doublet-2p doublet-P levels of Li and B2 is calculated using 45-parameter wave functions. The shifts of the resonance lines of 7Li relative to 6Li and of 11B2 relative to 10B2 are calculated to be 0.186cm and 0.843cm respectively compared with the observed values 0.157cm, 0.930cm delta JO and 0.970cm delta J1.
