Abstract:

The object of the invention is an optical resonator, consisting of two prisms set with their bases at the Brewster angle to the axis of the resonator. To remove the reflection losses and to obtain discrete magnitudes of the dispersion and of the necessary length of the path of rays of open circulation inside the resonator, one of the prisms is made in the form of a converted tripole with the angle between the base and one of the faces equal to the Brewster angle, the second is made in the form of a multilateral pyramid with an even number of faces, the opposite faces being mutually perpendicular, with equal angles at the apex and with the plane of the base set at the Brewster angle to the axis of symmetry of the pyramid, and the angle between one face and the base must be within limits of alpha-alpha pi2k, where alpha is a constant that depends upon the selection of the face 2k is the number of faces of the pyramid.
