The distribution of stresses in a unidirectionally oriented, multifiber composite as a result of process shrinkage and external loads has been analyzed after assuming continuity boundary conditions at the interface and certain hexagonal boundary conditions in the space between the reinforcements. Selected model specimens have been numerically analyzed by computer, and the results have been compared with photoelastic experimental studies.
