An autodyne NMR spectrometer was designed which incorporates a quartz frequency stabilization system in order to avoid difficulties inherent in systems requiring the working sample to be placed in the resonator coil. The device was used to investigate the increase of the second magnetic moment of polymethylmethacrylate with elongation of the sample.
