TECHNICAL DATA AND STANDARDIZATION GLOSSARY.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE (INSTALLATIONS AND LOGISTICS) WASHINGTON D C
Pagination or Media Count:
The Glossary is based primarily on the fifty definitions prepared by the Committee on Scientific and Technical Information for the Federal Council on Science and Technology and the results of Case 1 of the former Technical Logistics Data and Information Committee. Additional terms were obtained from Report Number 4 Documentation and Dissemination of Research and Development Results House Select Committee on Government Research, Armed Services Procurement Regulations, DoD Instructions and Directives, Army, Navy, and Air Force Regulations, and other documents that implement the DoD Technical Information Program, and the Standardization Program. The definitions contained in this Glossary are consistent with American Standards Association definitions in Information Processing. In certain cases, explanations have been added to meet DoD requirements and reflect DoD usage. Those definitions that do not reference a specific official source, are proposed by the Subcommittee as new definitions. Author
