Abstract:

An efficient method is given for computing the incomplete beta function ratio I sub xa,b, on a high speed digital computer. The arguments a, b, are limited to positive integral multiples of one-half values over the ranges 12 a 10 to the 8th, 12 b 60. The program has been coded in STRAP for the IBM 7030 STRETCH. The average computing time for a ten decimal digit value of I sub xa,b is 2.6 milliseconds on an IBM 7090 it would be about 8 milliseconds per case.
