Abstract:

The anisotropy of a metal has been found to be a critical factor in deep-drawing operations. Further, it has been found that the anisotropy present in as-received metal can be accentuated or retarded to some degree by varying certain drawing parameters. Variation of each of these parameters produces a different effect on the anisotropic behavior of the material. In this study, the effect of total strain, strain rate, and material temperature on the anisotropy of H11 tool steel 5 percent Cr are presented as evidence of this manifestation. Author
