Abstract:

The basic information of an electroencephalogram EEG is connected with the frequency and intensity of its oscillations. Consequently, a simultaneous and continuous quantitative evaluation of these parameters can be very valuable for analyzing EEG. The author investigated the level of activity by calculating the ratio between the frequency and voltage of oscillations. This method of evaluating EEG yields a maximum of information in investigations on the process of desynchronization. The article describes an automatic device for continuous computation of the ratio between the frequency and intensity of EEG oscillations. Measurement error does not exceed 5. This device is an analog computer which consists of an i-f meter, an RMS voltage meter, a ratio calculator, and a recorder. The components and the operation of same are described.
