Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to follow the structural changes which occur in cast ZhS alloy during rapid cooling from various temperatures, to study the effect of annealing temperatures on rupture strength and notch toughness, to investigate the dissolution kinetics of secondary phases in solid solution on heating, and to determine the fields of application of various heat treatment conditions in practice. Research was conducted with a nickel-base heat-resistant alloy 0.1 C, 16.2 Cr, 4.9 W, 4.4 Mo, 4 Fe, 2.9 Al, 2.4 Ti, 0.4 Si, 0.5 Mn, 0.02 B, 0.015 Ce melted in a vacuum induction furnace. The authors found that the optimum structure and best properties of the alloy are insured by annealing at 1200C. However, the surface damage which can occur on heating in air necessitates considerable machining not less than 0.3 mm.
