Abstract:

A series of tests were made at low speeds in an attempt to find thickness distributions of up to 20 thicknesschord ratio which do not have an adverse effect on the non-linear lift. All the distributions tested do have some adverse effect but it was found that this can be minimized by ensuring that the wing upper surface is flat in the immediate vicinity of the leading edges.
