Abstract:

The research memorandum reports on the development of qualifications standards and related training for all 1105 officers assigned to the Military Sea Transportation Service MSTS and Naval Control of Shipping Organization NCSORG. These qualifications standards were developed as a part of the professional development system for Naval Reserve officers not on active duty. It should be noted that the Military Sea Transportation Service MSTS and the Naval Control of Shipping Organization NCSORG qualifications outlined are in addition to the requirements for all 1105 officers outlined in NAVPERS 15988-1. The conclusion reached was that the addition of type warfare qualifications for Military Sea Transportation Service MSTS and Naval Control of Shipping Organization NCSORG is a logical step of professional training in the professional development system.
