Abstract:
A cell designed for absorbancy measurements at high pressures has been constructed and used for a study of the pressure dependence of a thrombincatalyzed hydrolysis. Thrombin is not inactivated at pressures up to 20,000 psi. The rate of hydrolysis of a synthetic substrate toluene sulfonyl arginine methyl ester increases appreciably with pressure. Author
