Abstract:
The results are reported on a natural ventilation test of a corridor- type shelter located in Chicago. The effective temperature of this shelter when occupied at a density of 10 square feet per person will not exceed 83F for more than seven days during an average year. This interim report describes environmental tests performed in a specific shelter. The discussion of the results is preliminary and should not be used as the basis for general conclusions. A subsequent final report will include a comparative evaluation of data from subsequent tests having a variety of configurations and locations.
