Abstract:

The report contains the results of investigations into new materials to be used as low index spacer layers in the fabrication of the A reststrahlen transmission filter. These include KRS-5, CsI, CsBr, SiO, and PbI2. In addition, an evaluation of Kapton polyimide film as a substrate material, is given for the 20 to 40 micron region.
