An experimental study was conducted on 90 degree conical plexiglas deep submergence window models in the range of small diameterthickness ratio of 0.5 to 2.5. Several windows were tested under short term high pressure loadings, one was subjected to a 30 day creep test, and some models were fully submerged under high hydrostatic pressures. There were preliminary indications that improved structural performances could be obtained by recessing the model in its seat at the inner face, and that the strength of the windows may be affected by rapid loading or unloading rates. Small elastic creep deformations were found at 2,000 psig over 30 days for dh 1.0. The very high hydrostatic pressures had no observable effect on the windows. Author
