There are two methods for solving algebraic equations which appear to be useful in computation by automatic computing machinery. Graeffes method gives easily only absolute values of the roots. Bernoullis method as originally stated gives the root itself, except for certain cases where the method fails. This report extends the method to include such cases also. Author
