Detailed information is presented about a complex perceptual-motor skills task designed for use in the Naval Medical Research Institutes studies of isolation and confinement. Pilot data are presented demonstrating 1 that the fully automated task is equally suitable for use during experimental conditions employing darkened or lighted test rooms, and 2 that typical performances are in a range such that either increments or decrements should be easily measurable.
